Nail-aween Challenge 5: Ghosts & Goblins

Howdy, everyone!  I know it's been a few days since I posted but I've had a bit going on.  Nothing I want to share just yet, but who knows what the future will bring? :)  Anyway, I'd been wearing my Game Day Manicure from Saturday until today which was just no good!  I had to change it up so it was on to the next Nail-aween Challenge, Ghosts & Goblins.  I racked my brain to come up with something fun and different for this one.  I knew I didn't want "bed sheet" ghosts, not that there's anything wrong with them but I wanted something spookier.  I also wanted to incorporate a bit of the goblin aspect, too.  Here's what I came up with:

...more after the jump...

The inspiration was Slimer from Ghostbusters.  If you haven't seen this movie, it's a classic and you must rent it immediately!  Slimer is a poltergeist that has become something of a cult icon for the movie, everyone loves Slimer!  For this manicure, I started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors in Smokin', a dark grey creme.  I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in Limestone for Slimer's body, with a layer of Zoya's Opal to give him a suitably glistening appearance.  I used various striper polishes for his mouth, eyes and body details.  What do you think?  I love how this turned out!  Does it look exactly like the character?  No.  Is he ghost-y and goblin-y and creepy?  I think so!  Here's a close-up view:

And a detail shot of my thumb.  I feel like my thumbs never get seen really well and Thumb Slimer turned out particularly well, so I had to show him off!

I keep forgetting to include the list of other participants in the Nail-aween Challenge, but you should definitely go check them out if you have time.  Lots of talented folks out there!  Here's the list with links:

Keep your eyes peeled for the final 5 Challenges coming up!  Thanks so much for reading!
