Heavenly Manicure Two Ways

Hi there!  I'd like to welcome my new readers as a few of you have joined over the last couple weeks.  A special hello to the lovely ladies from the ABC Challenge, you girls are making my day with all your nice comments on my first submission, so thanks!

Today I have a fun little manicure to show you.  A while ago, I hustled to my local Walgreen's to grab a couple of Revlon's new polishes including Heavenly, a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Stairway to Heaven.  Heavenly has square blue/purple/green iridescent glitters mixed with orange/copper/red iridescent glitters in a milky base.  The only thing to do with a polish this lovely is to layer it over a darker base color...which is what I did!  Whaddya think?

....more after the jump....

I started here with 2 coats of Ulta's Total Eclipse, a not-quite-black smoky grey creme.  I considered doing a straight black base but I thought the grey might add a bit more depth while still showing off the iridescent qualities of Heavenly.  I think I was right!  This is one of my favorite combinations ever!  Heavenly acts almost like a flakie, so pretty!  I got a ton of compliments on this at work when I wore.  That's kind of my bar for how great a manicure actually looks.  If people you don't know compliment it, it must be good!

Here's a macro view for you:

Heavenly does have a great purple flash as well that doesn't seem to want to show up on camera for me, but, trust me, it's there!

One more shot, this one's outdoors:

I wore this yesterday and, despite my sincere love for it, I couldn't help wondering how it would look with a matte top coat.  So, I put one on.

I knew it would look fabulous!  Is there anything better than matte glitter?  I'm really not sure there is.  It just "levels up" the manicure so much!

A couple more photos:

I hope you all enjoyed this manicure as much as I did.  Thanks so much for reading!
