Hey there! I promised at the end of my last post that I'd have another Above the Curve polish to show you and I'm keeping my word! ATC is ever a brand for supporting charities and every once in awhile they come up with something extra special for a specific cause. Today's polish definitely fits the "extra special" bill!
We Are The World is a Limited Edition polish made to celebrate Earth Day. I cannot even begin to describe the depth of love I have for this polish. I mean, just look at it! Is it not the perfect deep ocean blue? It reminds me very strongly of images captured of the Earth from space. Angel and Shawn have gone above and beyond with this beauty!
We Are The World is somewhere between a jelly and a crelly base (is there a name for this??) loaded with blue, green, and holographic glitters in different sizes and shapes, including my beloved dots! ATC could not have made me a custom polish more perfect than this one...deeply, beautifully blue with dots...simply perfection! The cerulean shade of this polish is similar to Sinful Colors Endless Blue, but does not have the nasty smell that I associate with that one.
The formula was also perfection, opaque in 2-3 coats and super smooth. You may have to do a bit of fishing for the large dots, but all the other glitters popped straight out of the bottle with no trouble. I'm showing 3 coats of We Are The World here with one coat of Gothic Gala Lacquers Smooth Me Over top coat and one coat of Seche Vite.

Not only is this polish special because of its beauty, it also has the distinction of being a charity polish for The Sierra Club Foundation. This Foundation is all about America leaving fossil fuels behind to replace them with clean energy (solar, wind, etc.) which makes it a perfect organization to support for Earth Day! Good evening, everyone! I'm excited to report that my bf will be coming home from the hospital on Wednesday and he's been doing so much better. It's a good start to the week here and I have some great polishes to show you as well which makes it just that much better!
I was thrilled when Angel and Shawn from Above the Curve Nail Polish emailed me to tell me that my blog had finally come up to review their next collection. I'm a huge fan of their polishes and they're both just the nicest folks! In fact, ATC is one of the first indies I ever bought and they, therefore, hold a special place in my heart. They've got a new Spring collection coming out and were nice enough to send me three polishes to review. The collection is called Power To The Polish Peeps and features some lovely pastel shades.
Let's start with Have Your Peeps Call My Peeps, a delicate petal pink creme with a fuchsia shimmer and a twinkling of holographic sparkle. I'm not sure we can get much Springier than this one, folks! The color, the sparkle...it calls to mind little buds opening for the first time.
The formula here was good but you'll definitely want to make sure each coat is dry before starting the next, I went a little too fast and got some dragging. That's most likely due to my own impatience though...just a good tip to remember :) I'm showing 3 coats but you can probably get away with 2. I did use one coat of Seche Vite to top things off.
HYPCMP is just a pretty, pretty polish and the holographic sparkle just gives it a little something extra.
Twin Peeps (I had to say it out loud before I got it lol) is a barely-there pink crelly packed with tons of pastel dots in different sizes, pink butterflies, and baby blue stars. Though I really love the glitter mix in this polish, I do kind of wish it was in a clear base rather than a crelly. I found that the glitters got covered up rather quickly in this base and I wish they'd show through a little more. That said, it's a very Spring-y color combo.
I had no other formula issues with this one. Again, I've applied 3 coats with one coat of Seche Vite and because of the bigger glitters, you'll want a good top coat to smooth any bumpiness. There is a bit of fishing with this polish for the larger glitters, but if you turn the bottle upside down a few minutes before application, you should breeze on through!
Overall, I really like Twin Peeps. I think the colors are perfect for the season and I'm always a fan of the crelly glitter bombs.
Peepers Creepers is my favorite of the three. A beautiful minty green creme with a pretty holographic sparkle, Peepers Creepers exudes Spring-y refreshment. My love of polish in general began with the hunt for the perfect minty green polish and this one could definitely be a contender!
A beautiful formula here, opaque in 2-3 coats. I'm showing 3 here with a coat of Seche Vite. We finally had a warm day here in Chicago and when I broke out my flip flops, I grabbed this polish to wear on my toes...I just love it!

Good evening everyone! I missed last Tuesday's Try It On Tuesday because I just had too much on my plate to get a post up. Not so this week! I took photos of this beauty last Thursday and held it in reserve just for today :) Yay for being prepared! Alright, enough about that. let's look at the polish!
Above the Curve has been celebrating their 1 year anniversary for the last couple of weeks and has had some awesome sales. I managed to snag this gorgeous jelly glitter polish named The Cat in The Hat during one of those sales. TCITH is a royal blue jelly packed with white and dark red hexes and bars. Normally, I really dislike bar glitter. They hang off the edges of the nail and they just look sloppy to me (no, you won't be seeing any of those China Glaze "feather" polishes from me lol) but this one has just the right amount of bars to add interest without irritation.
I wore this in 3 coats, although it was opaque in 2. I love the depth of all the layers of jelly and glitter...it's just so fun to look at! Application was a breeze, no excessive fishing for the larger glitters.
Again, I've got to be the bearer of sad news. The Cat in The Hat is no longer available from Above the Curve, but they have so many other fabulous creations, you're really missing out if you don't at least go look! Today's TIOT is Above The Curve's Party Polish Pink V.2.
PPP is a raspberry pink polish with a linear holographic finish and holographic glitter throughout. I'm pretty sure the only thing that can make a linear holo better is holo glitter! This polish is so pretty!
Check out that macro! The color by itself is pretty, but that rainbow inside really makes it shine.
I regret to inform you, however, that PPP was a limited edition polish that ATC put out in honor of their one-year business anniversary. At this time, it's no longer available :( But the good news is that ALL of ATC polishes are currently on sale over at their shop, again in honor of their anniversary. Howdy everyone! I've got a beautiful, beautiful polish to show you all today. I've been really lucky in the giveaway circuit in the last couple of weeks. I think I've won 6 giveaways this month already, so that's a tip for you...enter all the giveaways! Anyway, Above the Curve does a ton of giveaways on their facebook page and, around the first of this month, I was lucky enough to win one bottle of my choice from their current line. It was really hard to choose just one because they have so many awesome polishes but, in the end, I decided on Kiss My Asteroid. I'll admit my decision was based partly on the name, cuz, c'mon! But it's also a gorgeous polish, check it out!
Kiss My Asteroid is a blackened linear holographic polish. O. M. G. Seriously folks, you NEED this polish in your stash, like, yesterday! KMA is so, so pretty!
Not only is this polish a visual stunner, the formula is flawless! Smooth, fast-drying, and opaque in 2-3 coats, KMA is win all around.
My accent nails here are sporting a chevron pattern using Julep's Rebel, a silver scattered holographic polish. I'll actually be doing a tutorial on how to create this chevron pattern later this week. I usually use a different method to create a chevron pattern, but the technique I used here is SO much easier and I believe it's my calling to share it with the world! Be on the look out for that in the next couple of days.
As with most holo polishes, Kiss My Asteroid comes alive in sunlight. Look at that rainbow yumminess!
I've ordered a few polishes now from Above the Curve and I just love them! They're a great indie brand with quality products and wonderful customer service. You should definitely check them out!

Howdy, everyone! I hope this Monday evening finds you well. I received some pretty spectacular nail mail over the weekend and I'm expecting yet more this week. Oh, internet sales, you are a blessing and a curse (to my bank account)! Anyway, today I have 2 polishes to show you from Above the Curve Nail Polish. ATC is a brand I've had my eye on for awhile and they had a sale last week, so I decided it was high time to give them a shot. I must say, I'm very happy that I did! This post will be a little more picture heavy than most of mine because I just love these polishes so much, I had to show 'em off! Here we go!

Meet Achy Break-y, a stunning glitter bomb chock full of red holographic, red and purple hex glitters in a fuchsia jelly base. I could not stop staring at this beauty and was sad to have to take it off at all. Application was great, this is 3 thin coats and opacity was good. You could run this over a red or black base if you wanted to use less of AB, although I can't see why you would!
My camera didn't really want to capture this one very well and it's showing up a bit more red here than it actually is. AB has much more of a fuchsia color to it IRL.
You can see some of the holographic sparkle in the above photo. It was that exact sparkle that got me wondering how it would look mattified...so I did it:
As you can see, it looks pretty fantastic all matte-ed out. There is just something about matte glitter that makes my heart sing...*sigh*
Ok, as much as I hate to leave Achy Break-y, let's move on to the second lovely I got this weekend. I am a complete sucker for a white crelly with pretty much any sort of glitter in it...I mean, what's not to like?! That said, I give you Oh, the Places You'll Go!

As you can tell from the name, this is a Dr. Suess inspired polish. Just check out the book of same name and you'll see exactly where the color combo comes from.
OTPYG is a lovely white crelly (creme/jelly for those who don't know the term) with pastel blue, pink, yellow and purple hex glitter and purple micro glitter. It is the perfect polish for spring; soft, pretty and sweet!
The above photo shows the glitter a bit better. Application again was great, no dragging or balding and the glitter applied easily. I actually used 4-5 coats here because I love the depth you get with the layers of glitter. You could definitely apply this over an opaque white polish to use fewer coats.
And, because I can never leave well enough alone, here are a few shots of OTPYG with a matte top coat as well. I actually really like this version as well, it gives the polish a boost of sophistication.
