Hello! I don't know about you guys, but I'm loving all the Fall and Halloween collections that are coming out this time of year and the other day, I came across a stand out collection that I knew I just had to have! The Dia De Los Muertos collection by ellagee has two unique glitter toppers that caught my eye, so when she debuted them last week, I snapped them right up. From the ellagee website, this collection is:
"Inspired by the gorgeous colors and traditions of the Central and South American celebration, which is all about respecting and honoring beloved relatives who have passed away."
These two polishes in particular are inspired by the Sugar Skulls that are an integral part of the Dia De Los Muertos tradition. I've got a sugar skull tattooed on my foot, so when I saw Laura's (the mastermind behind ellagee) inspiration photos, I knew these polishes were just for me!

First up is Calaveras De Azucar, a glitter topper that includes pretty much every glitter shape ever invented. We've got dots, stars, hearts, hexes, squares, bars, flower and even an adorable little skull and crossbones. The color palette stays true the inspiration photo with matte and metallic pastels.
Application was good, there is a bit of fishing for the larger glitters, but that's to be expected. Laura includes little wooden sticks with your order in case you need some help getting the glitter mix you'd like out of the bottle, but I didn't find it necessary to use them. This is 2 coats of CDA over 2 coats of Sinful Colors' Pull Over topped with one coat of Paint Shop Polish's Sycamore for a bit of shimmer. You will need a good top coat to smooth out the bumps but all the glitters do lay fairly flat on the nail and I didn't have anything lift up or catch for the day or so that I wore this.
Just look at that glitter mix! I love it! I can't wait to do a jelly sandwich with this one...just have to decide which jelly to use...oh! the possibilities!
I bought a mini bottle of CDA and I'm already regretting it. As soon as my budget gets a little breathing room, I'll be purchasing a full-size bottle because I can see so many manis with this beauty!

I had a hard time deciding what to wear as undies for LCC. I finally went with Orly's In The Navy, a deep navy blue shimmer, and Essie's Blanc, a nice basic white. It actually gave LCC a nautical feel, proving the versatility of the polish.
Once again, application was good. A bit of fishing, but nothing onerous. I've used 2 coats of LCC and one coat of Seche Vite to smooth things out a bit.
Overall, I'm really impressed with ellagee's glitter toppers. These are the first polishes I've purchased from her and, though I did win a couple in I Feel Polished's giveaway a couple weeks ago, these are the first I've tried. She's definitely going on my "to watch" list, especially as I believe she'll be releasing a new holographic collection sometime soon! CDA and LCC are listed, along with the third polish, Danza De Los Muertos, for $4.50 for a 6ml mini bottle and $9.00 for a 15ml full sized bottle. Be sure to "like" ellagee on Facebook to keep up with new collections, sales, and any other important news!
And there's my sugar skull...in case you were wondering what he looks like ;) Please ignore my toes though, this photo was taken long before I got into nail polish and knew any better lol
Thanks so much for reading!
