Madison Street Beauty: Forest Nymph & Metallic Mint

*All products purchased by me*

Hello all!  As you may know, I'm participating in The Nail Files Turned 2! Giveaway with a bunch of other folks to celebrate The Nail Files second anniversary.

The prize that I donated (see photo below) includes 4 mini bottles of Madison Street Beauty's polish.  As yet, I hadn't had a chance to swatch the colors to show you guys how pretty they are.  I figured now is as good a time as any!  I'll show you guys 2 of the 4 in this post and save the other 2 for an upcoming post.  (To be clear, the donated prize is brand new, unopened bottles.  I'm using my own personal stock to swatch from :) )

Madison Street Beauty polish is handmade, 3-free and never animal-tested, which is awesome!  It's a newer to me brand and after trying these polishes, I'm terribly tempted by some of their other products, particularly the mineral foundation (many of their makeup products are vegan, by the way).  But we're here to talk about polish, right?  Right!

Forest Nymph is the first polish I have to show you today.  A sepia-toned brown, FN has a gorgeous minty green shimmer which makes it one of the more unique shimmer polishes I've seen in awhile.  The shimmer is more evident in real life, but you can definitely see it in the photos as well.   FN is a great Fall polish, somehow the green shimmer reminds me of leaves that haven't quite turned yet and is a great contrast to the reddish-brown base.

Application was easy.  I'm showing 3 coats here with a coat of Seche Vite on top.  Dry time was a smidge longer than other polishes, but not so long that I smudged anything.  It's just something to be aware of.

Overall, this is a polish with a unique color combo and a great formula!

Next we have Metallic Mint, a very aptly named polish.  A very light mint green polish with a shimmery metallic finish, MM is lovely.  I have tons of creme mints in my stash, but nothing quite like this one.

As with most metallics, you can see that I've got a few brushstrokes, but nothing terrible.  The formula was good, a bit more sheer than FN but still opaque in 3 coats.  You never know what to expect with a new brand of polish, but I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the formula on these polishes.

There you have it!  Two of the lovely polishes up for grabs in The Nail Files Turned 2! giveaway.  Be sure to enter for your chance to win prizes from Taneja’s BrideAccio Lacquer, My Boyfriend Hates MakeupA Polish Playground, Mandie’s Manicures, An Accent NailNail Addicted Sisters, Galactic Lacquer, Pretty Jelly and xo, noelle! If you just cant wait to see if you win, Madison Street is currently having a 60% off sale on everything in stock.  Yes, that's SIXTY PERCENT OFF!  That means these 5ml mini bottles are only $2!
